Hola Y'all!
Tomorrow will be three months on the mission! It's so crazy how time
flies! It's been the best three months so far! I hope to all you
mothers that y'all had a wonderful Mother's Day yesterday! Mothers
are the best and I sure do love and appreciate all that my mom does
for me and I love and appreciate all of you. I challenge all the moms
to look up the video #itwasmom. It really touched me and I hope
it does you as well. Luckily this week we haven't had to many encounters with
bugs (hehe). The weather has been holding up this week but it's been
pretty humid. We've been riding our bikes a lot which has been so
awesome because we've talked to so many people! This week was Cinco De
Mayo, which is a big fiesta for the Mexican culture! We biked a lot
that day and talked to so many people and miracles happened! The Lord
really does know His children and what they need. That night we had a
fiesta with our branch and we invited our investigators! All of them
had so much fun and they made lots of friends within the people in our
branch! We ate lots of yummy Mexican food and both us and the elders sang
them a song.....and I think we sounded great! At the beginning of the
week we taught our 2 investigators, Jerardo and Herminio. They are
both just so amazing and really looking for a change in there lives.
They both have so much faith and it's just amazing to see how much
they are coming to know there Heavenly Father and His son Jesus

They both have so much faith and it's just amazing to see how much
they are coming to know there Heavenly Father and His son Jesus
Christ. This week I have been studying more about these questions,
"Why is the Book of Mormon so important in our conversion?", and "Why do we
need it if we already have the Bible?" I was reading a talk from Tad
R. Callister from the October 2011 General Conference titled "The Book
of Mormon - a Book from God". This is what it says in this talk.....why is
the Book of Mormon so essential if we already have the Bible
to teach us about Jesus Christ? Have you ever wondered why
there are so many Christian churches in the world today when
they obtain their doctrines from essentially the same Bible? It is
because they interpret the Bible differently. If they
interpreted it the same, they would be the same church. This
is not a condition the Lord desires, for the Apostle Paul
declared that there is “one Lord, one faith, one baptism”
(Ephesians 4:5). To help bring this oneness about, the Lord
established a divine law of witnesses. Paul taught, “In the
mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be
established” (2 Corinthians 13:1). The Bible is one witness of
Jesus Christ; the Book of Mormon is another. Why is this
second witness so crucial? The following illustration may help: How
many straight lines can you draw through a single point on a
piece of paper? The answer is infinite. For a moment,
suppose that single point represents the Bible and that
hundreds of those straight lines drawn through that point
represent different interpretations of the Bible and that each
of those interpretations represents a different church. What
happens, however, if on that piece of paper there is a
second point representing the Book of Mormon? How many
straight lines could you draw between these two reference
points: the Bible and the Book of Mormon? Only one. Only one
interpretation of Christ’s doctrines survives the testimony of
these two witnesses. Again and again the Book of Mormon acts
as a confirming, clarifying, unifying witness of the doctrines
taught in the Bible so that there is only “one Lord, one
faith, one baptism.”

I Know the Book of Mormon is true. I have read it and I continually read it often.
I know that the Book of Mormon is essential to our own conversion
because without reading, pondering, and praying about it we can't truly gain a
testimony. I know that we need both the Book of Mormon and the Bible to go
hand in hand with each other and that both testify of our Savior Jesus Christ.
I know that the Book of Mormon contains the fullness of this everlasting
I know that the Book of Mormon contains the fullness of this everlasting
gospel and that Joseph Smith was a prophet Called of God in
this last dispensation. I love love love being able to share this
message with everyone! I have come to love these people so much and I
know that we are all children of our loving Heavenly Father. He knows
us better then we know ourselves. Pray to Him often and I know He is
listening and that He will answer your prayers. This past week has
been amazing and I can't wait for the week ahead. I love you all so
much and hope y'all have a great week!
