Howdy Y'all!
So I wanted to start out by saying that I hit my 4th month mark last
Friday! Time is flying by way to fast! Also today is the last day
of transfer #2 (the end of my training) and I will be going to a new
area! I will be serving in Lockhart Texas (Where the BEST BBQ OF TEXAS
IS!) There I will be training Hermana Hail! I'm super nervous but so
excited!! It will be a grand adventure! Tomorrow morning I will head
out there to meet my new companion!
So to start off my week last week we met Rosibella! She is an
incredible woman with a lot of faith! She told us her background
story and how much she has been through and how she has seen her
Heavenly Father help her through her trials. We were able to talk
about the Plan of Salvation with her and it really touched her heart!
That afternoon we went and served at the Round Rock Service Center
with a woman named Trish, and over these last couple weeks doing
service for them we've really gotten to know her and become good
friends with her. She had a lot of questions about what we do as
missionaries and over the time getting to know her we were able to
talk to her about our religion. It was great! Also at the Round Rock
Service Center I bought myself my first Cowgirl hat! I love it!
That night we went to Rudy's! The Best BBQ restaurant in TEXAS!! Mmmmm....
it was so good! We taught Hermano Peniaflor this week after the
English class and he's doing so well! I can't wait for him to be able
to go through the Temple by the end of this month!
On Thursday we had a training from our Mission President on Finding by
Faith! I learned a lot and applied what I learned to my everyday
missionary work and it was amazing the change that I saw! I have
realized over the time that I've been here so far that my purpose here
is to TEACH REPENTANCE AND BAPTIZE CONVERTS! That has been our
mission motto since January 2016 and I just love it. It's so true and
that is why I am here! Yesterday right before Sacrament started I
was asked if I could give a talk! Oh boy was I nervous unprepared and
I was going to have to do it in Spanish! I was the first speaker and
really didn't have any time to think about what I was even going to
say! I had to have so much faith and courage to get up there. As I
began to talk the spirit was there to guide me in what I should talk
about. The words were there and I knew what to say. I spoke on how
important reading and studying the scriptures is and what the Book of
Mormon means to me in my life. As I have been here for these past 4
months I have really come to understand why the Book of Mormon is so
important and what It means to me! It is key to our conversion! I
made it a goal at the beginning of my mission to reread the Book of
Mormon over again and to Highlight when it talks about our Savior
Jesus Christ! I have really come to know him more personally from
doing this and by reading from the Book of Mormon every day I have
gained an even greater testimony of it. I know that the Book of
Mormon is TRUE and because I know that I know that Joseph Smith was a
prophet and that he was called of God to restore this church today on
the earth again!
There are so many people who are prepared to receive this gospel and I
have felt so blessed to have a part in helping some of them take those
first steps. But The Lord is the one doing all of the work. Which
makes sense, because this is HIS work. We are just the tools for him
to use. That is something I've seen everyday since being out here on
my mission. Alma 26:12 explains it perfectly,
"Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore
I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in His
strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we
have wrought in this land, for which we will praise His name forever."
Over and over, every single day, the Lord blesses us with little
miracles to hasten His work. There are no coincidences. The Lord's
timing is PERFECT! I challenge each of you to look for those little
miracles. I promise you that they're real! I love the Gospel of Jesus
Christ so much. I know it's true! I'm so grateful for the Comforter,
for the influence of the Holy Ghost in my life.
Malachi 3:10: "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there
may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord
of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you
out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it."
I love y'all so much! Have a wonderful Week!!
